For first time readers let me get you up to speed. I started blogging originally during the summer of 2004 as a way of venting my frustrations and I have managed to keep it up since then. I am a graduate of prestigious SUNY Albany and have a BA in computer science from there. Upon advice of my pre-med advisors I started an MS in biomedical engineering at Polytechnic Univeristy in Brooklyn once I came home. I have managed to get into NYCOM (New York College of Osteopathic Medicine) this fall. I have seen many things about me change since I came home. I was finally able to shrug off the awful senior year I had in Albany. Since my senior year there I managed to take 10 pounds of fat off and replace them with 10 of muscle. I have been slowly building myself up since that time and have managed to effectively double what I can curl, press etc. since then.

Having to deal with the isolation of effectively being one of maybe two in my MS program who speaks english as a native language is frustrating. The isolation from being in a tiny grad program is maddening. I manage to get out and go places, just not as much as I would like. I did manage to tour some of Europe so I guess I should not be complaining. The last 2 years and change have been good in that I finally did have time to learn about myself as there were few distractions. This is something I neglected to do up until now. I feel like I am in a much better place than I was 3 years ago.

Ok now that my background is out of the way, onto more current stuff. Looking around now more seriously for a place, no real leads yet. I haven’t seen any listings up at all yet. In the process of getting financial aid stuff filled out for NYCOM. Want to get back to some serious partying like the old nihilistic me used to do. In the process of planning my post graduation vacation before I start med school.
